Central Coast Violence Intervention Programs (CC VIP)
The Central Coast Violence Intervention Program (CC VIP) was a Certified Batterer Intervention Program and counseling office founded in San Luis Obispo county California in 1999 when Julie was asked to assume responsibility for the existing women’s groups. While the groups were designed to meet the needs of those mandated to domestic violence programs, others who wished to participate voluntarily were encouraged to see how they, too, might benefit from membership as other voluntary members have.
Today, our Men’s Group is are no longer designed for mandated people but can include some. Those with mandatory attendance requirements should confirm with your appropriate individuals or agencies.
CC VIP’s overall mission is to reduce suffering and increase the safety of those who have been affected by domestic violence and other form of domestic abuse of children and adults. Therefore, anyone affected by violence from another, in any way, is the focus of our intervention. We also treat people who have concerns about hurting others or who have hurt others through violence, the threat of violence, and other unique forms of abuse or neglect.
People who have hurt others through unkind behaviors such as abuse or neglect can also suffer from the memories related to those acts, and the negative effects those behaviors may have had upon others and their relationships. We may be able to help you help relieve the burden your actions have caused others and yourself. It’s worth considering when you realize that we don’t hurt others when we feel genuinely good and ok.
CC VIP offers specific services for children and adults affected by childhood by neglect or abuse, and by other interpersonal offenses such as war, natural disasters, and grief and loss, and harm by authority.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop in people who have been exposed to traumatic events such as accidents, natural disasters, loss, and interpersonal offenses such as domestic violence and rape. Whenever is possible and appropriate, we offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help our clients more quickly move through their therapy process.
We also provide therapy for concerns related to anxiety, grief and loss, depression, trauma and neglect, life transitions, men’s issues, women’s issues, marital and couple conflicts, parenting and family issues, nightmares, trouble getting along, or finding one’s way.
CC VIP is now Calm Clear and Connected.
